Touching the Hearts of our Communities

The commitment to give back time and talents to the communities where our lawyers and staff live and work is integral to Haynes and Boone’s firm identity. Richard Haynes was a strong and consistent advocate of community service in Dallas and received the Justinian Award for Public Service in recognition of his contributions to such organizations as the Dallas Art Museum and the Baylor Medical Center Foundation.  Mike Boone was the 2008 recipient of the J. Erik Jonsson Ethics Award, presented by Southern Methodist University’s Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics and Responsibility to honor his civic activism, commitment to public service and generous charitable contributions. This heritage from our founding partners is reflected in the broad array of community organizations that benefit from involvement by members of our firm.

We have created two entities to facilitate our community service vision. The Haynes and Boone Foundation receives contributions from the firm and our partners to help fund non-profit organizations that are essential to our local communities. And our firmwide Pro Bono/Public Service Committee works to coordinate public service and pro bono opportunities and match them to our lawyers and staff.

Community Service Organizations We Proudly Support

In the legal community, Haynes and Boone lawyers devote hundreds of hours each year to local, state and national bar associations and sections, as well as to many other professional groups. Our lawyers also serve as adjunct professors of law at such law schools as the University of Texas, Southern Methodist University and the University of Houston.
