SNPA Files Friend-of-the-Court Brief with Federal Appeals Court in Atlanta

SNPA's First Amendment Committee continued the course it began to chart in 2005 through filing friend-of-the-court briefs and supporting SNPA members in selected First Amendment cases on appeal. On June 4, Jeff Nobles, an appellate specialist at Haynes and Boone in Houston, filed the latest SNPA brief with the federal appeals court in Atlanta in support of courtroom access and courthouse reporting rights.
In the brief filed by SNPA, Nobles argued that open courtrooms and public trials lie at the heart of the First Amendment right of access to the courts.
