Real Estate Tax
Each real estate transaction is unique, presenting its own challenges and opportunities. At Haynes and Boone, we have experience representing clients in every phase of the real estate process – from acquisition, through development, and ultimately disposition. In this regard, we frequently assist with the formation of partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations and other entities used to hold real estate, the negotiation of partnership and limited liability company agreements used in connection with joint ventures and the tax analysis incident to such transactions. We also regularly assist clients with the negotiation of other documents related to real estate investment, such as development and asset management agreements.
In addition to assisting clients with the acquisition, development and disposition of various types of properties, both domestically and abroad, our attorneys also are experienced working with and structuring real estate investment trusts and real estate investment funds, as well as helping clients properly utilize legitimate tax deferral strategies, such as like-kind exchanges and installment sale transactions.
